Has India passed the covid-19 peaks? Can we remove our masks now?

Finally some good news India’s covid cases numbers are reducing every day in September we saw daily covid cases of almost 1 lakh. But for the last consecutive 8 days the covid cases are less than 50000 so can we finally take of our masks?
Well it's not that simple it depends on the further outlook is good or bad.

Is India emerging now from Covid-19?

1. Cases in India are decreasing but the situation is opposite in worldwide.
• England has declared a second lockdown till December.
• England they had controlled the spread cases were following curve was flattering. In June, there were no cases, but suddenly more than two thousand cases are being found.
• and this is not the case and only one European country.
• Israel, Germany, France and Italy are saying second waves.

When you sneeze, cough or even talk, you release droplets these fluids settle on surface which can help the virus spread.
According to experts droplets evaporate in summers and the virus doesn't spread as much but during winters the transmission of virus spread faster with the help of contact transmission & aerosol transmission.
Droplets will take longer to evaporates in the winters this will increase the rate of droplet transmission all of us have to be extra careful in winters.

2. How reliable are these low positive daily numbers.

• There are two types of Covid tests conducted in India.
1. One is the RT-PCR Test and
2. And second is the Rapid Antigent Test.

RT-PCR Test is slow to give result but is more accurate. Rapid Antigen Test give fast result but give false negative too.
• Not all states are transparent about which test are happening. The Sero-survey further revealed that for every confirmed covid-19 cases in May there were 82.130 infections that went undefeated.
• we don't really know how many people are infected but haven't been captured in contact tracing or testing.
• We however have to admit our mortality rate is lesser than other countries and that is good news.
• However our country's population is 138 crore and only 11 crore covid test has been conducted in our country this means less than 10% of our population has been tested and that's bad news.

3. Is our fight against covid or against death?

• India has the most covid recoveries worldwide. There is a huge risk between the positive news.
• Due to covid some patients who survive covid-19 may suffer lasting lung damage.
• Please read the experiences of covid patients online and listen to doctors interviews they all mentioned about the long-term impacts of covid-19.
• Research by David Cox, science news says everyone out of three covid patients can have severe lung damage and air pollution can be fatal for such patients.

• 17 % covid deaths linked to pollution. Air pollution can put every one out of five patients in critical condition maybe these deaths may not get counted as covid deaths but thinking a little bit about their life is our responsibility.
Rajasthan and Orissa ban crackers for safety of covid patients we need to take such decisions to reduce air pollution in India. It feels very good when people in the society came together understand the circumstances and take this decision together. We need to control air pollution at our individual level we owe it to those 7600000 people who are at risk.
• This time we are all ready to unite to celebrate Diwali but remember that if you burn firecrackers or create any kind of air pollution in this Diwali, then it will be very dangerous for the patient who has just emerged from Covid or for those who are still battling against covid. According to doctors and research, this time if any covid patient came in contact of any kind of air pollution, then they may have to face very long lung damage.

Ultimately, are these chances of a second wave in India?

This is paradox, if more people think we have defeated covid no second wave will come then we will have a second wave of infections for sure because we will stop taking precautions and if more people believe that a second wave will come then they take as many precautions as they did in May. Then maybe, we can control the second wave of infections.

We're 8 months into the covid-19 pandemic but we still haven't learned how to wear a mask properly please correct those people who wear the mask in these ways.

Cases are reducing but it doesn’t mean we become overconfident and stop taking any precautions at all. Yes, today India’s covid numbers are reducing and this news will really be good news for India When numbers flatline even after the winter/festive season.
Till the time we don't have a vaccine and it reaches everyone we haven’t won the fight against the covid-19.
But news over here is that you get to decide India's future because wearing a mask is in your hands, reducing air pollution is in your hands, and cooperating and not being a covid-idiot is in your clean hands.
